Climate Change Ed classes, THIRD Sundays

The WildEarth Climate team has begun a new series of climate education classes on THIRD Sundays in the Faith parlor, 9:30-10:45. Next one, Sun. MARCH 19th. . It is also shown in the Adult RE class grid.   The Food for Thought class continues their pattern of meeting on 2nd and 4th Sundays.

RESIST, PROTECT, AND GET IN THE WAY:



ATX NONVIOLENT DIRECT ACTION & CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE TRAINING
SUNFEBRUARY 26TH, 3:30-9:30 PM, WILDFLOWER COMMUNITY ROOM
           [SAT. February 25th -- Training cancelled; a short Forum/Conversation will be given--see below] 

 Learn about nonviolent direct action and civil disobedience for protests and strategic campaigns, primarily for activists of beginner and intermediary experience levels.).  This training is being organized by activists with 350-Austin, Austin Environmental Justice Team (ATXEJ), Texas Drought Project, Texas Climate Action, WildEarth Climate Action Team (Wildflower Church), and more. We are motivated by a goal of growing our community networks and capacities to take action for defending our city, state, communities/neighbors, with strength and solidarity.  A $10 donation is requested, or more if you are able. Supper is included. The size of the training will need to be a minimum of 20 persons up to a maximum of 50.  Please REGISTER at  https://goo.gl/forms/F31P6DJi2ZguEzdp2 .  If the maximum is reached, your registration will serve as a waiting list in case of cancellations, and will allow for you to be contacted about future scheduled trainings. If you previously RSVP'd  for Sat. Feb.25th (which has been cancelled), and want to come Sunday instead, please fill out the registration form again to let the organizers know.

 FORUM AND CONVERSATION on NVDA

In lieu of the longer training which was originally scheduled for this day, Aly Tharp will present a short Forum and conversation on the subject of nonviolent direct action and civil disobedience,  followed by two optional activities AT THE CAPITOL: 
      1pm-  A De-escalation training by experienced trainer Lisa Fithian at the Capitol, and
      2pm-  “NO BAN, NO WALL” rally

WildEarth Climate Action Team meeting, Thu. 2/16, 7-9 pm

The Climate Action Team will meet this Thursday, February 16, 7-9 pm, at a member’s home in the Circle C area.
